In the book, readers journey alongside Tops Marketplace store owners John Salerno and Betsy Tooker as they recount heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking moments that reveal the surprising and often remarkable history of the beloved Plantsville and Southington grocery stores. From humble beginnings to becoming a cornerstone of the community, this is a story of faith, resilience, and the belief that every challenge carries a greater purpose that’s rooted in inspiration and hope.

Authors Chuck Miceli, Betsy Tooker, and John Salerno were honored to participate in the 56th Annual Southington Apple Harvest Festival, where they held their first official book signing for GOD Is Watching the Apples. The event took place at the Hopko Performance Hall Gallery in the Southington Cultural Arts Center, drawing a warm and enthusiastic crowd.

During the signing, the authors connected with new readers and longtime supporters, sharing reflections on Tops Marketplace’s history and growth. These meaningful conversations captured the faith, resilience, and strong local connections that define both their journey and the story told in the book.
